Enviroment Testing
Spectro Research Lab Ventures (P) Ltd. provides environmental testing
services of the highest quality. It is a recognized organization in the field
of laboratory and on-field testing of various environmental parameters,
besides providing consultancy services to clients depending on their
regulatory needs. Spectro has received approvals from ministry of environment
and forests, and various state pollution control boards.
Apart from the above-mentioned services, Spectro provides environmental
consulting and testing services to various municipal, industrial, household
and private bodies. To dispose of its services, Spectro has a well-balanced
team of professional engineers, analysts, and specifically trained technical
personnel.
Air Pollution Monitoring
There are several types of Air pollution and the hot topics of pollution
which are generally discussed are smog, acid rain, the greenhouse effect,
and the "Ozone hole". As all these can have serious effects on the health
of human beings and animals alike, it is of paramount importance to see to
it the relevant environmental parameters are regularly checked or monitored.
Spectro has not only taken up the monitoring of ambient air in the urban
conditions found in cities, but has also undertaken the challenges of
conducting these assignments in the adverse and hostile conditions found
in the Himalayan ranges and also in the extreme rural areas of different
parts of the country.
Types and significance of Ambient Air Pollutants
- Particulates (SPM & RPM)
- Metals lead, mercury, arsenic etc
- Sulphur dioxide, Nitrogen oxides, Carbon Monoxide, Ammonia, and Ozone
- Methane & Benzene
- Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
- 1,3-Butadiene from vehicle exhausts.
Carbon monoxide is the product of incomplete combustion of fossil
fuels.
Nitrogen dioxide is formed whenever fossil fuels are burnt in air.
However, the main source of it is vehicular exhausts.
Ozone in the upper atmosphere is essential to protect the earth from
the harmful ultra-violet light. However at even trace levels (more than 10 ppm)
near the ground this gas can irritate the airways of the lungs. It is formed as
a secondary pollutant i.e. by the reaction of other pollutants with each other.
Sulphur dioxide is mainly produced during the burning of coal and oil.
Particulate matters, PM10 and PM2.5 are small airborne particles
that can penetrate deep into the lungs. Their sources include sea salt,
wind blown soil, combustion processes and droplet formation in the atmosphere.
Indoor Air Pollution
Indoor air poses many challenges to the health of the people not only
in urban, industrial and rural areas, but also in office environment too.
Indoor air pollutants slowly accumulate and lead to significant health
hazards and cause damage to the environment at par with outdoor air
pollutants.
Spectro conducts indoor air monitoring and analysis for its clients
in embassies, call-centres, hospitals and pharmaceutical manufacturing
industries. We are equipped with the latest instruments like the latest
indoor air samplers and also the laser based air particle counter.
Water Pollution
Spectro provides full range of sampling and testing services for Potable,
Municipal Sewage, Industrial Wastewater, Surface and Ground water. The
testing activities are carried out as per IS, APHA, BIS and WHO
specifications.
Soil Pollution
The quality of soil cannot be ignored as it will then endanger public
health and the living environment. Therefore it is necessary to conduct
proper soil tests, and also analyze the correlation between various factors
which affect it or can get affected by it.
Spectro offers a complete range of testing solutions for Agricultural
and Non-Agricultural Land use.
Besides all these testing parameters, Spectro also provides testing for
Stack Monitoring and Noise Pollution.
