Spectro Research Lab Ventures (P) Ltd.’s Mechanical testing division is well
equipped to carry out a number of mechanical tests on various types of metallic
and non-metallic materials. Test specimens are meticulously prepared in the
machine workshop before conducting tests on them. Testing mechanical properties
of a material is extremely important in assessing its potential performance,
and also provides an indication of the presence or absence of inherent flaws
in the design of the material. A wide variety of standardized mechanical tests
exist to check for desired properties, like Tensile strength, Hardness tests,
Impact resistance, Fatigue resistance, Ductility, Brittleness etc.
Spectro conducts a number of standardized and customized mechanical tests
at its testing location with the use of various state-of-the-art
instruments. Spectro uses various national and international standards
like IS, ASTM, BS, ISO for conducting its testing activities.
Some of the main mechanical tests carried out by Spectro are:
- Tensile tests of various metallic items
- Rockwell (B and C Scales) and Brinell hardness tests
- Vickers hardness tests
- Micro hardness Tests
- Impact tests, Izod, BS & ASTM, upto -196°C
- Bend tests
- Tests on reinforcement for concrete Tests on HTS wire
- Tests on Tubes-Flattening
- Crushing Tests
